It’s time to sign on the dotted line

We understand that 2020 has been a tough year.

As a Committee and parents of junior players at DVUSC, we were also out of pocket as a result of the cancelled season. We are currently working hard to ensure that the club is up and running and that those members that paid fees and received a refund or credit towards the 2021 season are well looked after.

To those members who donated their fee refunds back to the club, we thank you for your generosity, especially in such a trying year.

We believe that all players deserve to play the game they love without prejudice. DVUSC are a local community based sporting club and therefore the club will NOT be having junior trials for the 2021 season.

So it’s first in best dressed from this point on. Click the button below and reserve your child’s spot for 2021. At this stage we are not asking for a deposit or fees to reserve a spot.

Please note: When the time comes to pay a deposit and eventually fees, spots will only be held for those who have paid. The club got caught out last season with a number of players registered without paying fees – the Committee won’t let this occur in 2021.

Lower Fees in 2020

We are trying to reduce junior registration fees in 2020

100% Fee Return if season doesn't commence

With some smart budgeting and having already refreshed all our equipment (balls, goals etc) in 2020, we can guarantee 100% return of fees if the season doesn't start.

ProRata Fee Return If season starts and is interupted

Even before the season starts the club incurs costs. Utilities, equipment, COVID safety etc - If the season starts and is interupted, fees will be refunded prorata based on the number of games etc

DVUSC 2020 Member Loyalty Card

We are giving our loyal members back something in return for the 2021 season (well... those who paid fees in 2020)

We are working on some exciting offers for those members who paid fees in 2020

Obituary of Someone Else

I know that all of you were saddened to learn this week of the death of one of our club’s most valuable members — Someone Else.

Someone’s passing created a vacancy that will be difficult to fill.  Else has been with us for many years, and for every one of those years, Someone did far more than the normal person’s share of the work.  Whenever leadership was mentioned, this wonderful person was looked to for inspiration as well as results.  Someone Else can work with that group.  Whenever there was a job to do, an event to help with, or a meeting to attend, one name was on everyone’s lips, “Let Someone Else do it.”  It was common knowledge that Someone Else was among the largest givers at the club.

Someone Else was a wonderful person, sometimes appearing super-human, but a person can only do so much.  Were the truth known, everyone expected too much of Someone Else.  Now Someone Else is gone.  We wonder what we are going to do.  Someone Else left a wonderful example to follow, but who is going to follow it?  Who is going to do the things Someone Else did?

Remember, we can’t depend on Someone Else anymore.

Now that we got your attention and also made a valid point...

Many hands make light work
We are looking for people to join the DVUSC Committee. At the moment the club is run by unpaid and dedicated volunteers, who like you, just want a safe and enjoyable club for our children to play soccer.

Your commitment would be a monthly meeting and some tasks to help with. If a full committee position sounds like it would be too much, we are also looking for people to help on sub-committees. More information will follow shortly.

If you have any questions about joining the committee, please contact Mark or Jason.

Coach Wanted: Senior Women’s Team

In 2019 the DVUSC Senior Women’s team was runners up in Women’s State League 4.

Due to COVID-19, in 2020 the women didn’t get to play a game and unfortunately when looking forward to the 2021 season, the coach (Nathan) has had to step aside due to work commitments.

DVUSC is therefore now looking for a new coach for the Senior Women’s Team, who will play in Women’s State League 3 in 2021.

Applications should be sent to DVUSC Technical Director – Vasko Jankulovski, or phone him on 0414 428 914

Return to Play/Training Conditions update (6 Nov)

The Committee are currently discussing the options for a return to training sometime in the near future. We are still waiting on advise from the council regarding the same. We will be in touch as soon as we know more.

From the FFV Website - 11am November 6th 2020

Following the movement of metropolitan Melbourne into the Third Step of the COVID-19 Roadmap, we have released an update to the Return to Play/Training Conditions for Juniors and Seniors.

Metropolitan Melbourne now joins Regional Victoria in the Third Step, allowing contact sport to resume for juniors aged 18 and under.

Senior players aged 19 and over cannot return to play; only restricted non-contact training is possible at this stage.

Please review the changes in detail and to continue to liaise with your Council (or other land owner) in relation to venue and facility access.

A reminder that compliance with the FV Return to Play/Training Conditions is mandatory.

We’ll shortly be launching our spring/summer football campaign, giving players the opportunity to take play our traditional winter sport across the warmer months.

Return to training

The Diamond Valley United Soccer Club is restricted by the guidelines issued by both Sport & Recreation Victoria and Football Victoria.  The Banyule Council also needs to approve the use of our training venues as we are currently outside of the traditional tenancy period.

The current guidelines and conditions are as follows:

The club will keep members updated as information becomes available.

FFV Update: Return to play conditions

The following content is from the FFV Website

Football Victoria (FV) welcomes the Victorian Government update from Monday 26 November (*We think they mean october), paving the way for a return to play for metropolitan players aged 18 and under, and non-contact training for 18+.

Sport & Recreation Victoria (SRV) will be releasing detailed guidance for community sport following these government announcements. Once received, FV will update and release Return to Play conditions and support around COVIDSafe plans for junior & adult participants. We anticipate this will be in the week commencing November 2.

As part of any return to football, Councils must also grant access to facilities and we anticipate this may take a few days to work through for each Club.

Please note that the current training/play restrictions remain in place for Clubs, until FV publishes an updated set of Return To Train/Return To Play Conditions and Councils advise of their required processes.

We are actively working with Clubs on spring/summer football programs to enable participants across the state to play football in 2020.

We will update our football community once we have further detail from SRV.

Until then, please take care, as we look forward to all Victorians being able to return to the pitch.

Vasko Jankulovski (current DVUSC Technical Director) and Jim Daglaras (former DVUSC Senior and Junior coach) have created a soccer program aimed at improving the skills of junior soccer players (both boys and girls.) If you are not aware of the program it is designed to focus on the following areas:
  • Agility-Balance-Speed
  • Technical Ability
  • Game Awareness

If you are interested in participating and/or require additional information, please click here
