Max Caridi’s ball across the box found his team mate Ollie Jankulovski at the back post as he fired home, beating the keeper to make it 1-0. The Valley maintained the ascendency and in the 76th minute they were rewarded when a corner ball was cut back inside by Montagnese and an unmarked Jonathan Stiliadis thumped home from inside the 6 yard box to make it 2-0. Valley had chances to put it beyond doubt in the final minutes, but it was Rowville who grabbed a late consolation goal with the last kick of the game as it finished 2-1.
